Darlot Petzval 200mm F3.3
€800.00 EUR
History: A very nice and early Darlot portrait petzval which
comes in a perfect focal lenght for 5x7 portrait work. Focal lenght and
speed almost match those of the famous Dallmeyer 2B, and the image on
the groundglass shows also similarities.
Its engraved with 'Darlot Opticien - DA - 29.746' which puts it in the early 1870ies.
Condition:
This quite nice Petzval design lens comes almost in a collectors
condition. The brass parts come unpolished with some patina, there is
minmal wear here and there but its still a beauty to look upon. The
rack & pinion is there and works most of the time. The
glass is in good condition, there are the usuall cleaning marks and
tiny specs like always, but besides that there is no haze, fungus or
anything that would impair the
imaging quality here.
It
has a
focal lenght of 220mm at a speed of F3.5. It will work best as a
portrait lens for 4x5 and 5x7 formats with a distinct petzval characteristic on
the ground
glass.
Lens comes with a flange.
