Hermagis Portrait Petzval 300mm F3.6

€1300.00 EUR

Shipping costs will be calculated at checkout.
History: A very fine example late example. The lens is engraved with:

'No 17.120 - HERMAGIS - Opten Fabnt - Brevete s.g.d.g. - Paris'

A very nice example of a later version, which came without the two sliding barrels or rack & pinion, which really makes the lens very lightweight. Another interesting fact is, that the brass was nickel plated, which was quite an expensive proccess back then. The nickel plating shows some wear, but is still intact in most places.

The focal lenght is about 300mm (or 12") and the open aperture is around F3.6. It covers fullplate and 8x10 with a destinctive petzval character in the outer region (especially in the larger format).

Condition: This brass beauty comes in a great condition. The glass is in a mostly good condition, there are quite some cleaning marks, but its still wont affect image quality at all. There is no haze, fungus or anything that would affect the image quality.

It comes with the original flange.
