Here you see a quite intriguing lens made by the famous Oscar Zwiernzina in Dresden. The "Kunst Portrait - Plasticca" lenses were made at the peak of the pictorialism movement somewhere in the 1920-30ies. It is known for a relative sharp center and pleasant bokeh with a one of a kind softness to the image, something that the pictorialists were especially looking for.

Only a few lenses were made back then, and only a few endured the last century. So Plasticca lenses dont show up often in auctions, especially in such a nice and authentic condition.

This is the very rare and largest version of this lens. The focal lenght is 600mm (or 24") at a fix aperture of F4. The lens is best used for 11x14 and up to 14x17 work. I dont have to much experience with the Plasticcas, but i would strongly suspect that this one covers even larger portraits.

The condition of the lens is absolutely collectors worthy. The golden laquere shows only minimal wear here and there. The glass is in a good condition mostly, only cleaning marks here and there, that wont affect the image quality at all. The original yellow filter in the back shows a bit more wear, but is still perfectly useable.

The lens comes with a fitting flange.
