€400.00 EUR

Shipping costs will be calculated at checkout.

History: The British company Watson & Son were located at 313 High Holborn London, and enjoyed a reputation for making fine microscopes and wooden cameras. Their lenses were also of high repute, but are quite rare as comparatively few were made .

This makes them very desirable among collectors and enthusiasts. This example on offer has a focal length of 5.5" (140mm), with both front and rear lens of 9.5" (240mm). It also features a fully working aperture which rotates smoothly from around F11 up to F64.

The super compact and lightweight lens will cover 8x10 formats and even 10x12 when used with both elements. But it also can be used in a 'single element' mode, with a focal lenght of 240mm and an even larger image circle.

Condition: The brass looks quite nice with a warm patina and some light signs of wear. The glass elements are mostly clear showing only minimal signs of dust specs inside.

Lens comes with the original flange.
