Condition: Vageeswari are probably the most famous camera makers from India. Their cameras are very well made and offer quite some advantages to most other field cameras of those times: they are lightweight, yet they offer quite many movements and stability.

The front offers rise/fall, while the rear offers tilt. The bellows look original and are still good and flexible. The camera offers a double extension and a maximum bellows draw up to around 65cm (or 26"), which makes it also useable for portraiture work besides the obvious landscapes. The back can be rotated to take either portrait or landscape format. The camera comes with an original woode plateholder, which was designed for dry plates, but with some easy modification will also be able to take wetplates.

Camera comes with a predrilled lensboard. Usually the Vageeswari come with an opening in the baseplate, which were attached to special wooden tripods. But luckily a previous owner adapted a wooden board with a standard tripod mounting flange, so the camera can be used with a standard tripod mount.
