History: The Dallmeyer Fast Portrait series A and B are well known for their incredible image quality.  For decades those lenses were the most sought after portrait lenses out there. The A series featured an open aperture of F4 with a wider image circle compared to the B series. The 2A with its 350mm focal lenght is one of the best choices for 8x10 work, but can also be used up to 12x12 formats.

The serial number is: 75.623 which puts the lens in the years 1910-15. It is the latest version Dallmeyer produced in their time. The two big advantages of this version are the reduced weight and also the front soft focus adjustment (the older version had this adjustment in the rear).

One more advantage of the lens is, that it comes with an original iris aperture installed by Dallmeyer which is still working to this day.

Condition: The best part about this specimen, is that this beauty comes in an absolute collectors condition! The  lens shows the golden laquere shows only light wear, and a beautiful coating. The difussion mechanism is working well. The glass is very nice here, showing only minimal cleaning marks and specs. Overall its crispy clear and shows a fantastic bokeh on the groundscreen.

It comes with the original flange.
