If you ask seasoned shooters what favourite lens they would name, many would say a Heliar. Those are masterpieces of german optical design and famous in the Large format community for their smooth portrait rendering and absolute stunning bokeh. Just google up the internet for sample images shot with Heliar.

It is a really impressive piece. The focal lenght is 360mm (or 14") and the image circle is HUGE here. As long as i remember it was advertised to cover 8x10, but it will cover up to 12x15.

The condition of this specimen is quite good. The lens is in absolute 100% working condition: the aperture mooves smoothly forth and back. The glass shows only minimal  cleaning marks and some air bubbles (sign of quality glass!). Besides that its still clear without any damage, haze or fungus. The image on the groundglass is outstanding.

The most interesting part with this specimen is the fact that it is a very early version. This early version was mainly made out of aluminium (later versions were made of brass), which makes this specimen quite lightweight compared to its other peers. Including the flange it weights only 1.500gr, later Heliars weight almost as double that!

The lens comes with a fitting flange.

height: 10cm
