C. Burr Portrait Petzval 290mm F3.3 (Dallmeyer 3B clone)

History: This specimen was made by one of the best early british lens and camera makers, Charles Burr in London. It seems to be Burrs answer to Dallmeyer 3B potrait lens. WIth the same focal lenght and almost similar F stop it seems to be good match to the famous lens. And Burr was well known for his built and optical quality, his lenses did rival back then with those of Ross and Dallmeyer.

Condition: This beauty comes in a good condition. The brass shows minimal wear, but also an authentic golden glow. The rack & pinion is complete and works, though a bit jumpy at times. The giant glass elements are in a very good condition. There are the usually feint cleaning marks, but really not to much here. As always they wont affect image quality at all. Besides that there is no seperation, fungus or haze.

With its fast open aperture of F3.3 and a focal lengh of 290mm (or 11.5"), this lens will work from fullplate up to 8x10 formats, showing some fine character on portrait range. It is the 3B for a smaller budget!

It comes with a flange and is ready to shoot!
