Bausch & Lomb 3A (Dallmeyer clone) 400mm F4
Condition: This beauty comes in a really good condition. The brass shows only light wear, and a nice golden patina. The rack & pinion mechanism is complete and working smoothly. The soft focus also works fine, changing the distance between the two rear elements. The lens features an iris aperture, which works, though a bit tight. Its missing two of its blades, but there are more then enaugh blades to cover that. The glass is in a really good condition, the front is really really clear, also is the rear, with only some cleaning marks showing. Allover the glass is clear and doesnt show any haze, seperation or fungus.
It comes with the original flange.
This behemoth is not a lens for the field work. Its big and its heavy. It will need a good and sturdy studiocamera with a nice big lensboard to be mounted on. But then it will provide the user with incedible sharp images with a nice and characteristic swirl in the back (depending on format).
With its 400mm (or 16") focal lenght it will work nicely from 8x10 formats up to 11x14 formats, even 12x15 on portrait range with some light falloff.
