This is a very massive and impressive lens made by one of the most reknowed german lens makers: Carl Zeiss Jena. This specimen features an impressive focal lenght of about 840mm (or 33") at a max. aperture of F10.5. The image circle of this beast is gigantic and about 1m in diameter. It will work very well for Ultra Large Format projects with formats up to 24x24 and even larger!

The most interesting part here, is that this one is one of the few early versions, which were still marketed with the golden brass finish, rather then the later black finish ones. For the Tessars i would always prefer the early versions, since most of the time they offer a nicer character then their later relatives.

The condition of the lens is quite good. The golden laquere shows some wear here and there, but is also in an authentic condition (considering its age). The most important thing: the glass is in a good condition, showing only minimal cleaning marks, no haze and no fungus here. Also the aperture is moving freely from F10 up to F90.

The lens comes with a fitting flange and a selfmade lenscap.
