This is a very massive lens made by a wellknown known german maker: Carl Zeiss. In the past i had a handfull of similar lenses in the 500mm focal lenght, but this is the first and only one that comes with an impressive 700mm (or 27 1/2") focal lenght. The most interesting spec is that it also offers a max. aperture of F5!

This is the largest Carl Zeiss Triplet lens i had in the shop so far. With its 700mm focal lenght it will work nicely for ULF portraits and the F5 open aperture will give you fantastic DOF on your groundglass!

I would reocmmend this lens for 11x14 and up to 20x24 portraits if you can work with a minimal vignietting.

The condition of the lens is quite good. The metall comes in a nice shape, showing  minor wear to the black paint, only a small piece of the front rim is missing. The glass is mostly in a good condition also, there are some circular cleaning marks especially on the outer edge of the rear element, but nothing that would affect the image quality to the slightest. 

The lens features a working iris aperture which is moving from F5 up to F12.5!
