History: The Dallmeyer Fast Portrait series A and B are well known for their incredible image quality.  For decades those lenses were the most sought after portrait lenses out there. The A series featured an open aperture of F4 with a wider image circle compared to the B series. The 1A with its 254mm focal lenght is one of the best choices for 5x7 and fullplate work, but can also be used up to 8x10 formats.

The serial number is: 83.408 which puts the lens in the late 1910es.

Condition: This beauty comes in a really nice condition. The brass shows only light wear, and the black finish also. The two pro points why i would suggest this version over the older ones, are the working iris aperture, and also the working soft focus mechanism which is operated from the front (by turning the front part counterclockwise), instead of the old mechanism where you had to take out the lens completly. The glass is in a really good condition, only the slightest cleaning marks here and there, besides that its super clear and clean. A true beauty to hold in one hands and also on the groundlglass. And also super lightweight!


It comes with the original flange and the original leather lenscap.
