History: A very early landscape lens for
the 4x5 and up to 8x10
format. Dallmeyer was one of the earliest and a very reknowed optical
makers in the early years of photography. He was well known and
respected for his well built Aplanat series, and also for the Rapid
Portrait series which had a portrait petzval layout.
This lens has a focal lenght of 220mm (or 8 1/2")at a speed of F11. I
did testmount it and it covers 5x7 easily, working easily up to 8x10 and maybe even 10x12 formats.
This compact lens (weight is only 350gr!) will make a great travell companien for open air group portrait and landscape work.
Condition:
Most of the authentic golden laquere is still present and the
brass looks quite nice with a patina. The
glass is cispy clear, except some light seperation at the edges. The lens features a fully working revolver aperture which moves smoothly.
Lens comes with a flange.
