Dallmeyer 2A Portrait Petzval 350mm F4

Coming Soon

History: The Dallmeyer Fast Portrait series A and B are well known for their incredible image quality.  For decades those lenses were the most sought after portrait lenses out there. The A series featured an open aperture of F4 with a wider image circle compared to the B series. The 2A with its 350mm focal lenght is one of the best choices for 8x10 work, but can also be used up to 12x12 formats.

The serial number is: 105.764 which puts the lens in the year 1925. This is a version that was between the old traditional style 2A and the later adopted black/aluminium version. It is more compact then the very early version (short lenshood) but it still offers the rearmounted difussion mechanism.

Condition: This beauty comes in nice condition overall with some pros and cons. The golden laquere shows only light wear, and a nice patina. The rack & pinion mechanism on the other hand is missing, this is rather an asthetical issue, since its not needed to operate the lens at all. The difussion mechanism in the rear is sadly stuck, and doesnt move. On the pro side, the lens comes with a nice and authentic Dallmeyer iris aperture installed, which still moves smoothly to this day.

It comes with the original flange.
