History: The Dallmeyer 'Series B' was by then one of the most known and highly praised portrait petzval lenses back in the early days. This didnt change untill today, where the wet plate community holds the B series in high regards.

The serial number: '65.588' looking through the Dallmeyer archives it can be dated to the early 1900s.

Condition: This lens beauty comes in a nice and authentic condition. The brass shows some patina, but also the nice golden laquere. The rack & pinion is complete and working roughly. The glass on the other hand is in really good condition, there are some minimal cleaning marks here and there, but otherwise its crispy clear and shows no haze, fungus or chips.

The best part about this specimen is the fact that it comes with one original waterhouse stop. Those are mostly lost in time, but one original is a good start, if you want to make some from cardboard.

The 3B offers a focal lengh of 290mm and a starting aperture of F3. It will work best for 5x7 and 8x10 portraiture work. It is THE dream lens for those formats.

It comes with a fitting flange.
