The serial number is: 32.687 which dates it back into the time of 1882-85.

Google Dallmeyer 4D or 5D for sample images/plates done with this
beauty. There are some out there.
Condition: The condition of this specimen is very good. The brass shows only light wear and a fine patina. The rack & pinion is complete but doesnt move well. But more important the glass is clear here, showing only a light edge seperation in the front and minimal cleaning marks/specs, both wont affect image quality at all, and besides that there is no haze, fungus or any damage.
The lens features a waterhouse slot (no stops included) and a working soft focus adjustment in the rear.
With its 320mm focal lenght it will well cover 8x10 ar even 10x12 wide open, and up to 11x14 on portrait range.
