Dallmeyer Scanning Wide Angle Lens 400mm F4
History: This Dallmeyer lens seems to be made for a analog scanner or for reproduction. It features a BIG body with huge glass elements (i suspect it to be a triplet layout, but i cant open it for confirmation). The Focal lenght here is 404mm (or 16"), it has a very large image circle which is almost 75cm in diameter. The image itself is quite wide angly at infinity, with a sharp center and quite some distortion towards the edges. I think this might be a nice wide angle lens for the 11x14 or even 14x17 formats. A bit on the experimental side, but you cant be to picky with fast wide angle lenses in those formats.
Condition: The housing looks ok here, there is some wear, but all in all its good. The housing features quite a massive flange which is firmly attached to the budy. There is no aperture whatsoever here. It seems to have been coatet, but the coating wears off here and there. The glass is a good condition, besides the worn off coating there is only a hairline scratch on the front element, considering the size and format, i guarantee you, it wont have any effect whatsoever.
