Dallmeyer Stigmatic Series II No 8 380mm F6
€800.00 EUR
History: Here you can see a lens that is rarely seen on the market today. The Stigmatic Series II was introduced by Dallmeyer in the year 1896. It was advertised beeing free of astimatism and offering a well distributed sharpness all over the image field. It was also marketed as a combination lens, whereas the front and rear element could be used alone without the other, offering a focal lenght of around 2 times the combined lens.
The No. 8 was the second largest in the Series II. It was advertised to cover 18x16 formats, but testing the image circle, it will definetly cover at least 20"x20" maybe even 20"24" formats.
Condition:
The brass is in great shape showing only minimal wear. A nice bonus here is that the lens features Dallmeyers own
patented iris aperture, which is still working smoothly from F6 up to F64. The glass is in a good condition, there is minimal edge seperation but overall the glass is crystall clear.
