(Darlot) Paris Focusing Loupe
A very well made and quite early focusing loupe made by the
famous french optician Darlot. The loupe can be dated into the 1870ies. This specimen is not engraved, but as with lenses, that was not an uncommon thing. The housing and dimensions do exactly match the Darlot loupes i had before.
It is made of massive brass with the authentic golden finish (which is original as far as i can see). Overall the loupe feels really massive and well made. The glass shows some minor scuffs and cleaning marks, but is still clear overall.
The front part can be moved in and out to change the distance. A nice detail is the strap attachment on the side, which makes it possible to have the loupe be tied to a leather strap.
A very hard to find accessiore which is hard to find, especially in such a good condition!
