Empire State 8x10 field camera
History: The Empire State cameras
are well known and respected field cameras of the early days of photography. The 8x10 version is the top of the line modell, which offers
the perfect balance between stability, weight and flexibility. It has almost all the available movements you would need to make outdoor, and
also indoor portraiture work. The materials used are mahagony and cherry wood.
Condition: This specimen comes in a really good authentic condition. It seems it was stored away safely for quite some time. The brass looks very good, also the the wood and the laquere are mostly intact. The leather bellows look absolutely good, are flexible and lighttight. The camera comes with its original extension rail (which is often missing), which gives it a maximum extension of about 750mm (~28"). It also features an international 8x10 back (it takes any standard plateholders) which can be rotated in portrait and landscape format.
The camera comes with a predrilled lensboard. If
you buy a lens form my collection for this camera i can adapt the lens
to it for free and combine shipping costs.
