Goerz Doppel Anastigmat 120mm F4.5
Here you see a quite compact and handy lens made by the german company C.P.
Goerz Berlin: the famous Doppel Anastigmat 'Dagor' lens. This lens was
famous for its huge image circle (angle of aprox 88%) and its absolute
stunning sharpness. Many companies tried to copy the Doppel Anastigmat
layout, thats why Goerz patented the name 'Dagor' for it. This is the
No. 0 of Series 1B, a lens that was made for 4x5 the format.
The Doppelanastigmat is a very well corrected and super sharp lens
design, which was highly praised in the early days of photography.
The condition of the lens is very good. The black laquere is authentic and shows some wear here and there, but is still there overall. The glass is in a good condition, there are some fine dust specs here and there. There is no haze and no fungus. The aperture is moving freely and it comes with a flange and sitting in a Helicoid mount (interesting for makro photography!).
The lens was advertised for 4x5 field work, where it was used as a slightly wide angle landscape lens, but it will also work for 5x7 formats as a true wide angle lens.
