C. Berthot Landscape Lens 700mm F7.5 ULF
€1200.00
Sold Out
History: Claude Berthiot was one of the very early opticians who started to manufature lenses for the photographic society. He opened up his factory as early as 1857 in Paris. He soon after also became a member of the Societe Francaise de Photographie, and his lenses were praised not only in competitions but also by many photographers during the following years.
This quite large landscape lens features a tweaked aplanatique layout. With its 700mm (or 27.5") focal lenght it will cover 24"x24" and probably even larger.
Condition:
The brass looks very good here, there is minimal to no wear. It is unpolished and still shows the fatnastic patina of over 100 existance. It is coated with a dark golden laquere which still
protects the brass beneath. The glass is a great condition also, beeing clear and without any haze or fungus.
The lens comes with a waterhouse slot and one original stop is even included!
The lens comes with a flange that doesnt fit completly but holds the lens very tight.
