Grundner shutter 95mm (3.8")
When it comes to shutter solutions for big antique brass lenses,
there are not many choices. One of the oldest designs is the german made Grundner shutter, which offer really large openings and also the possibility for the lens to be slightly beyond the lensboard (depending on the rear diameter).
The shutter itself is has the outer
dimensions of is 5.7"x6.5" (or 14.5cm x 16.5cm). The maximal opening is
around 9.5cm (or 3.7").
Condition: Most of Grundner shutter that you might find in old studio cameras are brittle or has some other defects. This specimen comes in a very nice and working condition. It offers a bulb mode via a handpump (not included, but quite easy to find on ebay or in the local apothecary).
