History: Hermagis was one of the early optical makers who also adopted the Rapid Rectilinear/Aplanat formula and was quite famous for his optical and mechanical quality. When you hold the lens in your hand you can feel that its a top quality photographic lens, not a cheaper laterna magica projecting lens.

Lens comes with a waterhouse slot (no stops included).

Condition:
The brass looks very good here, there is minimal to no wear. It is unpolished and still shows the fatnastic patina of over 100 existance. It is coated with a dark golden laquere which still protects the brass beneath. The glass is a great condition also, beeing clear and without any haze or fungus.

With its focal lenght of about 635mm (or 25") and an image circle of about 650mm it will cover formats up to 50cm x 50cm (or 20"x20"). The lens is overall corrected (aplanat design) and shows a remarable sharpness all throughout the image field.

The lens comes with a fitting flange!
