Hermagis Portrait Petzval 250mm F3
History: The Hermagis petzval lenses
were known and well sold in the
early days of photography. For decades those lenses were used worldwide
in the top portrait studios. This is a very fine specimen which is engraved with:
'Extra Rapide Portrait No 5 - HERMAGIS - OPTn Ft Bte S.G.D.G. Paris - No 71389'
one can date the lens back to the late 1920ies.
lens features a focal lenght of around 250mm and a stunning speed of
F3! Another grear and rare feature is a fully working iris aperture. A
beautifull piece of equipment that will make stunning portraits.
This beauty comes in a good and working condition. The brass shows only
minimal wear and is well protected by the golden laquere. The glass on the other hand is
in great condition, only minimal cleaning marks here and there, and a couple of small specs in the glass overall very clear.

lengh of 250mm (or 10"), this lens will work from 5x7 to fullplate format.
It comes with a flange.
