History: This specimen is Bausch & Lombs answer to the Dallmeyers B Series potrait lenses. WIth similar stats and even the Dallmeyers layout in the rear, it offers a fantastic sharpness and a soft focus adjustment in the rear. Bausch & Lomb offered this lens to severall companies for rebrand. This specimen comes without any branding, so it might be that it was never sold by B&L and endured its time somewhere in a warehouse, which also explains the fantastic overall condition.

Condition: This beauty comes in a great condition. The only part that shows any wear/dmage is the flange, which was damadged on the way to me (really bad packed by the seller). Otherwise the brass and the golden laquere are in great condition. The best part here is the iris aperture, which is still working properly, something you wont find on many petzval lenses. Also does the soft focus mechanism in the rear work smooth. The glass is in great condition too, there is very tiny edge seperation and minimal cleaning marks here and there, but nothing to worry about, and it still looks fantastic on the groundglass: a sharp center with a smooth falloff towards the outer parts.

With its fast open aperture of F3 and a focal lengh of aprox. 250mm (or 10"), this lens will work from 5x7 up to fullplate formats, showing some fine character on portrait range.


It comes with a flange which is a bit tricky to get into, but still holds the lens well, and a well made leather lenscap!
