Hermagis Portrait Petzval 250mm F3.8
History: The Hermagis petzval lenses
were known and well sold in the
early days of photography. For decades those lenses were used worldwide
in the top portrait studios. This is a very fine specimen which is engraved with:

one can date the lens back to the late 1880ies.
This beauty comes in a good and working condition. The brass shows only minimal wear and is well protected by the golden laquere. The rack & pinion
mechanism is complete, but works rather jumpy and might need a second hand to move. The glass on the other hand is
in great condition, only minimal cleaning marks here and there, overall very clear.
its fast open aperture of F3.8 and a focal
lengh of 250mm (or 10"), this lens will work from 5x7 to fullplate format.
It comes with a flange and with a selfmade lenscap!
