Rochester Ideal 10x12 field camera

History: Im saying it for years now, the US made field cameras from the early 1900s are probably the best field cameras you can get there. They offer a great mixture of stability, moveability and an international back.

Especially the cameras made in Rochester (Eastman Kodak, Empire State...) are the very best you can find back then and still now. With the back and lensboard the camera weights only slightly more then 3.5kg!! Which make it a perfect travell companion for nature/landscape photography, where you dont need long bellows draw anyway but prefer to travell light.

The materials used are mahagony and cherry wood and the cameras dates back to late 1890s.

Condition: This specimen comes in a really good authentic condition. It seems it was stored away safely for many decades in a collection. The brass looks very good, also the the wood and the laquere are mostly intact and dont need any work. The camera comes with a retracteable extension rail, which gives it a maximum extension of about 550mm (~22"). It also features the original international 10x12 back, which can be interchanged and also rotated (portrait and landscape format). The back takes international standard plateholder like Fidelity/Lisco or the modern Charmonix wetplate holders.

All movements are working: focusing works very well. The fron offers rise/fall, while the rear offers swing and tilt. All one could wish for in a lightweight field camera!

The bellows are original and still in a very good condition! They are flexible and will work for many years to come.

The camera comes with a predrilled lensboard. If you buy a lens form my collection for this camera i can adapt the lens to it for free and combine shipping costs.
