Clement & Gilmer Paris Wide Angle 350mm F16
€1500.00 EUR
History: Clement & Gilmer were very enthusiastic early french lens manufacturers. They did offer cameras and also lenses for severall years. This lens is a good example of the Grande Angulaire layout which was adopted by many french manufacturers in the 1880s. It was developed for wide angle landscape photography and offered an imaging angle of around 90° wide open.
Condition:
This impressice piece of brass and glass still looks astonishing today.
The brass is very nice here, there is some wear and it shows
its authentic golden patina. The glass is a great condition also, beeing
clear and showing only the occasional cleaning marks and tiny specs.
Lens
comes with a rotating aperture, which works fine. With its 90° imaging
angle it has an image circle of about 700mm wide open, which is enaugh
to cover formats of 40cm x 50cm (or 16x20). It is one of the very few wide angle lenses for ultra large formats.
The lens comes with a fitting flange.
