History: A very interesting Portrait petzval for the 10x12 and 11x14 format. Lerebours was one of the earliest and most reknowed optical makers in the early years of photography. Darlot, Vallantin and many others honed their skills in his workshop before they went on and opened up their own buisness. Much of what we know and use from the that era started all in his workshop.
This is quite a large Lerebeur Portrait Petzval lens which is rather hard to find nowadays, and it comes in a superb collectors consition!
Condition: The
lens is in
very nice and authentic condition. The brass of the lens comes with a
golden patina, showing only minimal wear. The rack &
pinion is comple and working. The glass is in a good condition, only minimal cleaning marks here and there. All in all the condition is stunning considering the
age of the lens.
This lens
has about 400mm focal lenght (15.75") and an open aperture of
F4.5. It will cover 10x12 and 11x14 format with a nice petzval character especially at portrait distance.
Lens comes with a fitting flange, and the original brass lenscap!
