Liesegang 1000mm !! F5.6 ULF lens
History: There are only very few options if you want to shoot ULF portraits beyond 11x14. You can try to find an authentic ULF petzval lens, but its going not to be easy and definitly quite expensive. The Liesegang and Leitz projection lenses offer a solution for way lower budget.
The Liesegang lens has a triplet design, like the Cooke Portrait lenses and Anastigmats. Those lenses
are sharp in the center and get softer towards the outer regions, like a portrait lens should be, and offer a
super shallow DOF for ULF formats.
The drawback here is, its quite a big lens and it offers no aperture control either. If you can live with that and want to keep your budget small, this is your decision.
Condition: The overall condition here is good. There are some signs of wear and age, a big bonus here is the super sturdy and massive flange which makes it able to mount the lens safely to a camera (or van, or whatever you need). The glass is mostly clear, some cleaning marks are present, and some wear in the coaring, which wont affect the image at all.
In the past i found usually around 1-2 of such monsters per year, but since a couple of years they vanished from the market and i couldnt find not even one. This is the first (and maybe last) specimen which i was able to find for 3 years now.
WIth its 1000mm (almost 40") focal lenght this massive lens will cover up to 1mx1m (or 40"x40") formats, maybe even slightly larger.
