Wray London Petzval 150mm F3

€400.00 EUR

Shipping costs will be calculated at checkout.

History: The lens is engraved with:

'Wray Lndon - 6in Lantern Objective - N. 9993'

Wray was a well known and respected optical workshop which was formed in the early 1850ies.

This quite early lens is probably around 1870ies.

The focal lenght is about 150mm (or 6") and the open aperture is around F3. It will work best for 4x5 format with a destinctive petzval character in the outer region. With its stunning opening aperture it will offer a really nice DOF for portraiture work!

Condition: This brass beauty comes in a good condition. The brass looks nice and shows a fantastic patina. The rack & pinion mechanism is complete and still works perfectly. The glass is in good condition, there are only very few cleaning marks, which is rather unusuall for such an old lens. There is no haze, fungus or anything that would affect the image quality.

It comes with a flange which is formly attached.

height: 11cm
width: 5.5cm
