History: This quite old portrait petzval lens comes without any engraving on the outer brass. Looking at the design and makers quality looks quite identical to the small Ross portrait lenses. Especially the large lenshood is a clear sign for that. We know that Ross didnt sell his lenses for rebranding without an engraving, but there is also a slight possibility that the engraving was cut out to make room for the waterhouse slot. In any case the lens is very well made and has similar specs as the Ross 150mm portrait petzvals.

Condition: The brass comes in a good condition, there is some wear to it indeed, but overall its in a good shape.The rack & pinion is missing, but on the plus side there is a fitting waterhouse stop included. The glass is in a good condition, there are some cleaning marks as usuall, and some specs and small scratchings in the rear element, but this wont affect image quality on this fantastic piece of history.



This lens has a focal lenght of roughly 150mm at a speed of F3.5. It will cover 4x5 very tightly with a distinct petzval characteristic on the ground glass on portrait distance.


Lens comes with a fitting flange and a waterhouse stop.
