Important Note: I will be restoring/relocating my workshop in the next couple of weeks. I will leave the webshop online and you can still buy the items that are beeing offered there. Yet i wont be able to ship any item before September the 20th 2020!

Please consider that, when you buy the item.

History: This is a really rare example of german optical manufacturing. The R. Winkel workshop was rather known for smaller portrait and projection lenses in the early 1900ies. This is the largest petzval lens that ive ever had in my hands or read of made by that maker.

Condition: This massive beauty comes in a really stunning condition. The nickel coated brass shows only light wear, and a nice patina. The rack & pinion mechanism is complete and working. The engraving in art nouveau letters is stunning and still bear the image of the golden 1920ies. Most important the glass comes in a supernice condition, showing almost no signs of wear at all. The huge glass elements show only very few cleaning marks, otherwise they are clear and clean of any damage.

With its 400mm focal lenght this lens will cover 8x10 with ease and also formats up to 11x14. I actually tried it on my 12x15 at one time and it did cover the groundglass at portrait range.

A rare and beautyfull piece of history, that will be offered probably only once in your  lifetime.

Lens comes with the original flange, and a very well made leather lenscap.
