Rapid Rectilinear Landscape lens 250mm F8

€60.00 Sold Out

History: The Rapid Rectilinear design lens (also called Aplanat) is well corrected for any astigmatism and aberrations. It was very succesfull layout because it was less expensive to produce then most other lenses. You will find those quite often on the second hand markets as those were made in large numbers.

Its a quite handy lens, because its very compact and lightweight. The perfect lens for outdoor and landscape work. The most interesting part here is that the lens comes with a working iris aperture, which works moothly from F8 to F64.

The brass looks really good here, there are some signs of wear and patina, the laquere is mostly intact and still original. It is unpolished and still shows the fatnastic patina of over 100 existance.  The glass is a good condition also, there are the trademark cleaning marks and some dust specs, but only a few. The glass beeing clear and without any haze or fungus.

With its focal lenght of about 250mm it will cover formats up to 5x7 formats as well as 8x10 (it will be a bit wide angly there, but with landscape this might be a bonus). The lens is overall corrected (aplanat design) and shows a remarable sharpness all throughout the image field.

The lens comes with a non removeable flange and an authentic leather lenscap.
