After many years of hunting for the really big and rare lenses, i finally was able to find the absolute reclusive 1800mm F16 Apo Ronar CL. This is the largest legally available lens that i know of, when it comes to image circle size. So if you by any chance have the dream of building a camera out of a truck or transform a complete room itself into a giant camera, and produce plates/pictures of up to 2mx2m meters in size, then this is your chance.

The Apo Ronar CL line was made by Rodenstock, one of the most highly regarded modern lensmakers in the 1980s in Germany. The 1800mm CL is the top of the line and the largest Apo Ronar ever made. Only 30 were ever made in the short production run. I followed the topic for years now, and 6 are known worldwide, and 2 more are suspected.

This lens is the dream lens of any ULF shooter. The recomended formats go up to 2mx2m meter (or 80"x80"). You ever dreamt of transforming your truck or room into a giant mammoth camera? Then you dont have that many alternatives. In the last 10 years i had only one(!) Apo Nikkor 1780mm which would come close to this lens in terms of performance. So you can imagine the chances of finding something like this.

The condition is surprisingly prestine. It still has the aperture knob, and even the Rodenstock quality seal on one side. The most important part: the glass is really crystal clear. It might show minimal wear to the coat, but overall its in great shape. The aperture is complete and still moves like on the day of production.

The lens comes with a fitting flange.
