History: This is a good example of the optical masterwork made by the famous Carl Schneider Kreuznach Company in Germany. The Xenar (Tessar layout) was one of the most succesfull lens designs back then. It offers a well corrected and even image field.


Condition: The metall is in a absolute nice condition, there is only minor wear to the housing and the black laquere is in a good condition The glass is in good condition also, there is no haze, fungus or seperation present. The lens is uncoated and will work well for wet plate photography. The Compound shutter looks very good and the times sound about right. The aperture is working smoothly.


The lens has a focal lenght of 240mm at a speed of F4.5. It will cover 5x7 format with a nice shallow DOF and might even work as a slightly wide angle on 8x10 formats.


Lens comes with a flange.
