History: A beauty with a famous name: the Eidoscope which was first produced by Hermagis and later by Berthiot Som Paris. This lens was made for pictorial photographers around late 19th and early 20th century. The Eidoscope is famous for its soft focus imaging wide open. As the french ads read at that time: "l'Eidoscope ne photographie pas, il dessine!" (It doesnt take images, it draws them!).

Condition: This black beauty comes in a nice condition. Most of the black aluminium versions you can find will have either bad laquere or the aperture is not properly working. This version doesnt have any of those issues. The iris aperture is working smoothly here. The glass is in a very good condition also.  There are some usually cleaning marks and dust specs but besides that i cant even hardly spot any cleaning marks here.

With a focal lenght of 375mm it offers a very nice lenght for portraits in 8x10 and 10x12 format. It comes with perfect clear glass, the aperture moves supersmooth and a fitting flange.

It comes with the original flange.
