Monogram Atlanta Aplanat 400mm F8
€400.00 EUR
History: The Aplanat or also Rapid Rectilinear lens layout is one of the most succesfull lens layouts in the early lens history. With its overall corrrected image field and beeing lightweight it offered an alternative to the larger lenses that were dominating the studios up untill then.
Condition:
The brass is in fantastic shape, there is minimal wear to the brass at all. The glass is in a good condition also, there is minimal edge seperation in the rear and some air bubbles and dust specs, but besides that the glass is very clear and without any haze, damage or fungus.
The lens was advertised to cover 8x10 format, but with its focal lenght of
about 400mm and an image circle of about 550mm it might even work for formats up
to 30cm x 40cm (or 12"x15"). The lens is overall corrected (aplanat
design) and shows a remarable sharpness all throughout the image field.
The lens comes with the original flange and waterhouse stop.
