Taylor Hobson Cooke Series IV 460mm F5.6
History: The Taylor Hobson Cooke Portrait Anastigmats are probably one of the
rarest and most sought after pieces of glass out there. This is the slightly lighter Series IV, which offers the same optical quality as the well known 'Knuckler' lenses, just without the soft focus adjustment. On the upside they are also quite lighter and therefore easier to mount.
This is a very massive and impressive lens which comes with a focal lenght of 460mm at F5.6. The image circle is very large at around 65cm it will work well from 8x10 up to 14x17 formats.
Condition: The condition overall is quite good. The brass shows only light wear and also the glass is in a great condition, showing only the very lightest cleaning marks. Otherwise the glass is clear and shows no haze and no fungus. The downside here is that the aperture was removed at some point (probably some of the iris leaves was broken). The upside is that the lens was retrofitted with a waterhouse slot and comes with 5 fitting waterhouse stops (F5.6, F8, F11, F16, F32).
The lens comes with a fitting flange and a selfmade lenscap.
