french Portrait Petzval 160mm F3
€500.00 EUR
History:
This brass specimen comes very likely from a french lens workshop (most likely Darlot or G&C, judging from the brass layout). It was not a laterna magica but rather a true photographic lens. It features a waterhouse slot (no stops included).
Condition: The
brass looks good here, there is minimal amount of wear and well protected by a golden laquere.
The rack & pinion mechanism is complete and working. The glass looks also good here, minor cleaning marks as always and two small scratches in the rear, but nothing that would have an impact on the final imaging capabilities.
The lens has a focal lenght of 160mm at a speed of F3. It will cover 4x5 perfectly and have some vignietting on the 5x7 format.
Lens comes with a flange and is ready to shoot!
