History: This nameless brass specimen comes very likely from an early french lens workshop (most likely Darlot, judging from the brass layout). It was not a laterna magica but rather a true photographic lens. It features a waterhouse slot (no stops included).

Condition: The brass looks good here, there is only minimal wear. The rack & pinion mechanism is complete and working. The glass is in a good condition, it shows some minor cleaning marks, which wont affect the image quality. There is no haze, fungus or anything that would diminish the optical qualities.

The lens has a focal lenght of 280mm at a speed of F4.5. It will cover 5x7 and the fullplate format. You might even want to try it on a 8x10 portrait, which probably will result in minimal vignietting but alot of petzval character!

Lens comes with a flange and is ready to shoot!
