The Voigtländer & Sohn Extra Rapid Euryscope Series IV No 4. This lens comes with a focal lenght of 14 1/3" (or 360mm) and a starting aperture of F6. According to the catalouge it could be up to 11"x14". In reality it will cover even more.

History: A masterpiece of german lens making from the late 1880ies. The Voigtländer Extra Rapid Euryscop offers the best of the two worlds, its well corrected (way more then the petzval design), but also offers a quite high open aperture of F6 (way faster then the stadard aplanat). The series number is 25.846, which dates it back to the year 1878.



Condition: The condition of the lens is quite good. The brass shows some character and a fine patina. The glass is in an overall good condition, there are some scratch marks (especially in the front) but there is nothing there that would affect the image quality at all. There is no haze, fungus or seperation there. The lens features a waterhouse slot (one stop included).


The lens comes with a flange a waterhouse stop.
