Voigtländer Portrait Petzval 180mm F3.3

€800.00 EUR

Shipping costs will be calculated at checkout.
Very early made Voigtländer portrait petzval lens (serial is 11.099 so it dates back from the year 1862). It comes in a quite good condition: brass was partially cleaned but still shows a nice and authentic patina. The rack & pinion is complete but not really working. The glass is mostly clean but features some small specs and cleaning marks, which is normal for a lens its age. Otherwise there is no haze, fungus or seperation present. The lens offers a very sharp center which is the hallmark of Voigtländer petzval lenses.

This lens has about 180mm focal lenght (7") and an open aperture of F3.3. It was probably designed for 4x5 portraiture work, but actually will produce the best results on the 5x7 and maybe even fullplate format (at portrait distance), where its authentic character can be seen in the outer edges of the image field.

Lens comes with a fitting flange.
