Voigtländer Triple-Anastigmat 500mm F7.7
€800.00 EUR
History: Voigtländer rarelly made lenses that were patented by other makers. This is a very nice exceptional lens that originally was designed by the famous british makers Taylor Hobson & Cooke. The Triple Anastigmat layout was also used by TTH for landscape and architecture lenses.
The lens is well corrected and offers a fantastic rendered and absolute sharp image. Interestingly it also offers a slightly curved field of view, which results with a hint more sharpness in the center. Not as much as a fast portrait lens, but more then more modern APO lenses. That makes it rather more interesting as a landscape lens today.
With its 500mm focal lenght it offers an image circle larger then 70cm and will cover up to 20"x20" maybe even 20"x24" formats.
Condition: The
condition of the brass is really good here, it shows only minor wear
and signs of age. The glass is clear and shows only minor cleaning mark here and there, nothing uncommen for a
lens from the year 1901.
Lens comes with the original flange.
